New Addition to the Red Onion Family

Normally Birthdays are a big deal in my family. This year was important because not only did I turn another year older, (still not sure about the wiser) My husband gave me the best gift I have ever received! On February 4th 2010 the Kramer Family was given a bouncing baby puppy of a whopping 75 pounds, named Kosar Kramer.
My husband and I were running errands a few days before my birthday and we decided to stop at the local animal shelter in Middletown, PAWS. I was so impressed with how well the dogs are treated, and they have a huge yard (about the size of a football field) for the dogs to run and play. We were walking through the kennel area (where the keep the bigger dogs) and the very last dog we saw was sitting in his cage just looking up with his big brown eyes saying "Yup, you know you want to take me home." I was hooked! My husband looked at the puppy and then at me and said "Happy Birthday!"

After having Kosar for a little over 3 months he has gained 20 pounds and still seems to be growing. Since PAWS did such a great job at taking care of him before he had a home, we did not need to do too much training... He was already potty trained and knew a few basic commands! He has defiantly become a member of the family that could never be replaced, he is loving, protective, and best of all seems happy to be with us!
A few of our regulars have seen pictures of my ginormous puppy (Yes, I am one of those people who share pictures of my dogs as if they are children.) Most of the comments are along the same lines of "he's bigger then you are!" and "my goodness that's a big puppy!" Because words can't describe how cute he really is feel free while stopping in for dinner to ask to see pictures :)

Tales of the Waitress- Proud Wife

Since working at the Red Onion Cafe, my family's life has seen many changes. We have bought a new home, I started going back to school for Respiratory Therapy, and my husband has become a protector of my new hometown, Monroe, Ohio! Last Tuesday i was honored to see my husband introduced to City Council as one of the newest fire fighters for Monroe. I have always been proud of my husband's drive to reach his dreams, and on that night he finally did. It has always been a dream of his to work in the town lives him. He is always saying things like "I want to be able to help my community," and "I would love to know i am helping the people around me." I can think of no other ways in which he can help those he cares for then by responding for medical and fire emergencies! This new chapter in our lives is an exciting adventure i am glad i can share with my community. My husband's new career also has extended our family to include the other fire fighters and their family's in Monroe. Without them we would not be as safe, and secure as we are right now! Thank to you to the those who run into a place where most people run out!

On Air- Tales of the Waitress

Since working at the Red Onion Café I have been given the opportunity to do some really cool things. I have had the chance to work at the 4th of July fireworks for Monroe, OH which was amazing. However I have checked off another “things to do in my life.” The Red Onion Café recently had the 107 radio station stop by because they have heard such wonderful things about us. When the stopped in to grab a bite to eat they decided to interview some of the staff of the Red Onion. Since I was the waitress I got to do an interview on air!
I was a little nervous at first, after all this radio station reaches thousands of people. The disc jockeys were so nice; they asked questions about the Red Onion, what it was like to work there, and other goofy radio questions. By the time the interview was done, I had so many nerves running through me I could honestly say I had no idea what I said! The fun part about getting to do the interview was my friends called me the next day and told me they heard me on the radio! How many people can say they have done that?

What Happens at the Red Onion....

I'll never tell what I saw at the Red Onion the other night, but perhaps one of the lovely waitresses at the Red Onion will tell a tail.
